Along with neighborhood parks and the walking and bike trails that have been integrated into many of Wesley Chapel’s master-planned communities, the Wesley Chapel District Park offers more amenities to residents. The 143-acre county park’s first phase opened in July of 2007, and since then, its practice and game fields have been very busy. The Wesley Chapel Athletic Association’s youth leagues and the PAL Vipers football league play there regularly. The park includes most of the outdoor facilities– fields for soccer, football , baseball and lacrosse; basketball and tennis courts, picnic shelters, walking trails, a playground, and lots of parking. The park is the host site for the Dick’s Sporting Goods Tournament of Champions, where club lacrosse teams come from across the U.S. and Canada to participate. The Chamber is currently selling memorial bricks that will be set around the park’s flagpole. Funds from the brick program will be used to create a playground for special needs children.
